“Throwing your name up” or going “All City” are common activities for graffiti artists and taggers, but how about throwing your name up on a 10+ storey building?

The Graffiti Research Lab is “Dedicated to outfitting graffiti artists with open source technologies for urban communication.” Basically speaking, the GRL uses various forms of technology to spread communication in the urban landscape – Acting like a digital spray can maybe? None of the technologies they provide are proprietary and all of the how-to’s are listed.

One of the first examples of GRL wizardry I came across was the use of a computer-powered high-strength projector to “paint” on extremely large areas from large distances. Click the image to see the vid!
Keep an eye out for when the cops come. It’s priceless.

And if you’re so inclined, here‘s the link to make your own.
